Beyoncé Makes History as First Black Woman to Top Billboard Country Chart

Beyoncé has once again made history by becoming the first black woman to top the Billboard country music chart. Her new single “Texas Hold ‘Em” reached No. 1 on the country airplay chart, making this achievement possible. Released on February 11, the song debuted alongside another single, “16 Carriages,” which entered the chart at number 9.

Both tracks are part of Beyoncé’s upcoming country-themed album, “Act II,” scheduled for release on March 29. This album serves as a follow-up to her 2022 release, “Renaissance,” often referred to as “Act I: Renaissance.”

The announcement of her new album came after a Verizon commercial featuring Beyoncé aired during the Super Bowl earlier this month.

In addition to her recent chart success, Beyoncé has also made history by being the first woman to top both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts since their inception in 1958. The only other artists to achieve this feat are Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Ray Charles.
