Nollywood Actor Amaechi Muonagor Passes Away at 62 Due to Kidney Failure

Amaechi Muonagor, a beloved figure in Nollywood comedy, has died at the age of 62, as confirmed by a family member speaking to local media.

According to reports, Muonagor lost his battle with kidney failure on Sunday while undergoing dialysis treatment, as reported by local media outlets.

The actor’s cousin, Tony Muonagor, also known as Tony Oneweek, confirmed the heartbreaking news of his passing.

His death comes shortly after he made a public plea for assistance in raising funds for a kidney transplant in India.

Many fans have taken to social media to express their sorrow over the loss.

Muonagor’s distinguished career included roles in numerous films, with one of his most memorable performances being in “Aki and Paw Paw,” where he portrayed the role of a father to two mischievous and lively teenagers.

He received a nomination for Best Actor at the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

His passing adds to the recent loss of another prominent figure in Nollywood, John Okafor, fondly known as Mr Ibu, who had also publicly sought medical support before his death.
