The decision to award Senegal the opportunity to host the Youth Olympic Games has garnered widespread support, with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach commending Africa’s unity and rich sporting heritage. During his visit to Senegal in 2022, Bach expressed his anticipation for the event, emphasizing its significance in showcasing Africa’s youthful energy and passion for sports.

Reflecting on the momentous occasion, sports analysts such as Rufai Shuaib from Senegal recognize the Youth Olympic Games as a historic milestone, providing young athletes from across Africa with a global platform to demonstrate their talent and potential.
