Bassirou Diomaye Faye is poised to assume the presidency, succeeding Macky Sall, in a momentous transition slated for Tuesday, April 2nd. As Senegal’s 5th president, Faye will be formally inaugurated in a ceremony set to take place in Diamniadio, an event of great significance that will draw the presence of dignitaries from various foreign nations.

Having secured an impressive victory with over 54% of the votes in the March 24th presidential election, Senegal’s opposition figure is set to ascend to the highest office on Tuesday, April 2nd.

The venue for this historic occasion is the Abdou Diouf International Conference Centre (CICAD) in Diamniadio, situated approximately 30 km from the capital, Dakar. Festivities will commence at 11 AM (UTC), marking the beginning of a new chapter in Senegal’s political landscape.

Central to the swearing-in ceremony is the public hearing conducted by the Constitutional Council, a pivotal process overseen by seven esteemed judges. It is during this session that the results of the presidential election will be officially proclaimed, solidifying the transition of power to the incoming administration.
