Robert Koen, managing director of Sub-Saharan Africa at Amazon, expressed excitement about the launch, stating, “We are excited to launch Amazon.co.za, along with thousands of independent sellers in South Africa.” This move not only introduces Amazon’s extensive product offerings but also showcases goods from local businesses, fostering a diverse marketplace for shoppers.

One of the standout features of the new platform is the availability of same-day and next-day delivery options, enhancing convenience for customers. Additionally, the inclusion of products from small local businesses underscores Amazon’s commitment to supporting and collaborating with South African brands.

Mr. Koen emphasized the importance of building strong relationships with both large and small businesses in South Africa, highlighting Amazon’s dedication to fostering partnerships within the local community.
